The Landmark Semester

The Landmark Semester is a combined course experience taught May-June each year for rising professionals in the outdoor education and recreation fields.  This combination of nationally recognized certification trainings offers students an opportunity to make themselves marketable in the outdoor community, building a resume founded in national standards.  Training does not substitute for experience, however training helps folks gain the work that furthers their outdoor professional career.  The Semester is available for open enrollment and for cohorts of five or more students currently enrolled in aligned colleges and universities.  Currently, Landmark Learning courses are recognized for college credit within supporting academic programs. Semester Includes:

Emergency Medical Technician Intensive (169 contact hours)
American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR (8 contact hours)
Wilderness Medicine Institute of NOLS Wilderness Upgrade for Medical Professionals (48 contact hours)
Leave No Trace Master Educator (40 contact hours)
American Canoe Association Swiftwater Rescue (18 contact hours)
Wilderness Lifeguard (18 contact hours)
American Canoe Association Introduction to Canoeing Instructor (20 contact hours)
American Heart Association First Aid and CPR Instructor (8 hours)

Total Contact Hours = 329.0 hours

Spring Semester: May 11- June 29, 2012

At semester end, students receive a cumulative instructor evaluation and exit interview.  Students are provided an evaluation summary of their achievements during the semester.  Students receive individual certifications per course, a semester transcript for credit transfer, and a cumulative certificate of graduation from Landmark Learning.
