Why do you work for Landmark?
Because I love teaching - I get to learn as much as I teach. I also really appreciate and support the culture of Landmark Learning.
What are your "special" skills that you contribute to Landmark?
Cat whisperer, refrigerator manager/specialist, truck sleeper.
What other outdoor company(ies) have you worked for?
Most recently, as a NOLS field instructor. I spent three years at a university outdoor program and six years teaching high school. I also spent three summer seasons as a leader for Wilderness Ventures.
What is your actual day/night job?
I'm trying to avoid day/night jobs by teaching WFR's!
What are your favorite outdoor activities?
Sea kayaking at the moment, but I'm trying to spend as much time as possible whitewater kayaking! Backpacking and mountaineering are where I started in the outdoors.
Any career or personal highlights you'd like to share?
I am owned and operated by a black cat named Grizzly. My wife and I spent four months backpacking around Patagonia in 2011 and we only lost our tent once.
