Any career or personal highlights you'd like to share?
In 1993, I scored a job teaching skiing in Colorado before I knew how to ski. Topped that by getting hired the following summer as a raft guide before I knew how to paddle. Can't beat on-the-job training! More recently, I am the founder of Appalachian Center for Wilderness Medicine, the Carolina Wilderness Medicine Externship and the NAEMSP-WMS Wilderness EMS Medical Director Course. A true career highlight is getting to serve as the Landmark Learning Medical Director.
Any words of wisdom you live by or would like to share?
Don't mess with the pancreas.
Never get involved with a land war in Asia.
Never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line
Always bring your towel
And most importantly, love conquers all
