Association for Experiential Education

The Association for Experiential Education (AEE) is a nonprofit, professional membership association dedicated to experiential education and the students, educators and practitioners who utilize its philosophy.

Always Ready LLC

Always Ready LLC provides disaster preparedness training and sells high quality equipment and supplies to help families and communities become more resilient. The company's founder, Christopher Sacco, has extensive experience preparing people for and responding to complex humanitarian disasters in Latin America and the Caribbean, which has taught him to appreciate how quickly modern amenities and basic services and supplies can disappear, leaving families and communities to fend for themselves. With this in mind, the training and products offered by Always Ready LLC focus on simple, reliable technologies as well as family and community-led disaster preparation and response.

American Camp Association

The American Camp Association is a community of camp professionals who, for over 100 years, have joined together to share our knowledge and experience and to ensure the quality of camp programs. 

American Whitewater

Founded in 1954, American Whitewater is a national non-profit organization with a mission “to conserve and restore America's whitewater resources and to enhance opportunities to enjoy them safely.” American Whitewater is a membership organization representing a broad diversity of individual whitewater enthusiasts, river conservationists, and more than 100 local paddling club affiliates across America. The organization is the primary advocate for the preservation and protection of whitewater resources throughout the United States, and connects the interests of human-powered recreational river users with ecological and science-based data to achieve the goals within its mission.

Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education

AORE provides opportunities for professionals and students in the field of outdoor recreation and education to exchange information, promote the preservation and conservation of the natural environment, and address issues common to college, university, community, military, and other not-for-profit outdoor recreation and education programs.

Astral

Asheville based Astral Bouyancy are pioneers and innovaters of PFDs with a conscience. They are consistently at the forefront of manufacturing environmentally friendly PFDs.

Blue Ridge Hiking Co.

Founded by Appalachian Trail record holder Jennifer Pharr Davis, Blue Ridge Hiking Co's mission is to make the wilderness accessible and enjoyable through written and spoken word, instruction and guiding.

The Canoe Guru

The Canoe Guru, Eli Helbert, is a 3rd generation canoer who spends his freetime canoeing into the most pristine and spectacular valleys of the world.  He has taken top honors at 2 World Championships, a World Cup and a World Extreme Race as well as numerous National and Regional Canoeing Titles. 

ClimbMax Climbing Gym

ClimbMax Climbing’s center is WNC's premiere climbing facility. We strive to provide the best climbing experience in an exciting and safe atmosphere. ClimbMax prides itself on being welcoming to all abilities and all ages!

Dillsboro River Company

Dillsboro River Company brings the adventure to the Tuckaseegee River. With rafting trips for all ages and levels this company seated in the Crossroad of the Smokeys provides the family with tons of fun.

Ecosport Adventure Learning

EcoSport is an Ecuadorian based company that designs adventure trips and events for business groups, academic excursions, and summer camps for youths of all ages. They are specialists in South American adventure learning.

Fox Mountain Guides

Fox Mountain Guides and Climbing School is the ‘Leader in Climber Education’. They offer Rock Climbing and Ice Climbing trips throughout the Southeast including North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, and Georgia.

Lutheridge Conference Center

Lutheridge Conference Center and Camp in western North Carolina provides summer camp for children and youth, family programs, adult programs, and opportunities to plan your own retreat or conference for your group.

Mingai

Mingai  is a nonprofit organization and an affiliate of Landmark Learning and WMI of NOLS that provides Wilderness Medicine training in Ecuador. Mingai is commited to the instruction of individuals who can establish leadership and provide emergency assistance. They organize trainings and projects on environmental management for the continued welfare and ecological benefit of all the Ecuadorian population.

National Outdoor Leadership School

Founded in 1965 by legendary mountaineer Paul Petzoldt, NOLS--a 501(c)(3) not for profit educational institution--takes people of all ages on remote wilderness expeditions, teaching technical outdoor skills, leadership, and environmental ethics in some of the world’s wildest and most awe-inspiring classrooms. 

North Carolina Youth Camp Association

The mission of the North Carolina Youth Camp Association is to strengthen and expand the educational, environmental and recreational opportunities provided by all organized camps in North Carolina by encouraging cooperation among camps, sponsoring camp-specific research, communicating camp industry information, and building relationships with various private, non-profit, public, and governmental interests and agencies.

North Carolina Outward Bound School

North Carolina Outward Bound School's goal is to inspire people to discover and develop their potential to care for themselves, others and the world around them through challenging experiences in unfamiliar settings.

Northwest River Supplies (NRS)

In the early 70's Bill Parks had two passions: paddling and business.  So with $2000 in savings, he started NRS (Northwest River Supplies).  As well as an opportunity to provide fellow enthusiasts with products, this gave him the chance to prove his teaching wasn't just talk.

Wilderness Medical Society

Founded in 1983, the Wilderness Medical Society's (WMS) mission is to advance healthcare, research, and education related to wilderness medicine. WMS is the world's leading organization devoted to wilderness medical challenges and creating educational resources and conferences for those in the wilderness medical field.
