Location: Five Rivers MetroParks, Dayton OH

Tuition includes camping: $750

Meals:

Not included – students provide their own meals

Lodging:

Black Cherry Group Site at Possum Creek MetroPark – Campground style camping provided to students at no
additional cost. Students may arrive as early at 1pm on Sunday, April 16, but must depart promptly after course graduation.

Students may also commute from home or offsite.

About This Course:

This course is run as a Basecamp format – Students and instructors start each day at Possum Creek Education Building and travel to different field locations for day trips, culminating in a 1 day community outreach opportunity.

This course provides participants with a comprehensive overview of Leave No Trace skills and ethics through practical application in a field-based setting. Students will practice LNT teaching strategies by delivering a planned lesson. Teaching Topics will be assigned and may include:

  • Dispose of Waste Properly
  • Leave What You Find
  • Minimize Campfire Impacts
  • Respect Wildlife
  • Be Considerate of Other Visitors
  • Environment or Activity-Specific topic (Deserts, Waterways, Climbing, etc)
  • Frontcountry Leave No Trace
  • Everyday Leave No Trace
