Town is 10 minutes from our base, with ample restaurants and grocery store options. Available for student use are two standard refrigerators, two microwaves, coffee pots and hot water urns, as well as three double-burner induction stoves with required magnetic pots/pans. Cups, plates, bowls, and silverware are also available for student use. Students will each have a cubby to use for dry food storage and use the three-sink system for washing/sanitizing at the end of meals.
Lodging: $135 Camping; $225 Bunkhouse
Camping (bring your own gear) or bunk space (bring your sleeping bag and pillow) is available by reservation. These lodging options are located by foot, up the hill behind the Cane Creek Lodge. Campers are invited to use the showers in the Student Lounge area.
Bunkhouses are 4 max to a room, and we assign by gender. Each room has its own bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. Each pair of rooms shares a common connecting space and covered front porch for downtime and community.
Students may also opt to camp in their vehicles in the parking area. The camping fee applies, and they may use the campers’ showers in the Lodge. No electric or water hookup is available.
Arrival is from 12PM-9PM the day before the course starts for self checkin. If you cannot arrive by 9PM, you may arrive at 7:45AM on the first day of your course for health screening. Class begins promptly at 8AM.
Students must be packed and moved out prior to 8AM on the last day of the course.

This course begins with a Zoom Meeting on Day 1, which will introduce Leave No Trace the Organization, address the broad scope of Leave No Trace training and need for training in the outdoors and at home, and prepare the student for self-study on the CANVAS platform for the following week (Days 2-7). Students will be onsite, in-person to deliver their Teaching Topics and cover final course topics, including graduation, on the last day of the course (Day 8).

This course begins with a Zoom Meeting on Day 1, which will introduce Leave No Trace the Organization, address the broad scope of Leave No Trace training and need for training in the outdoors and at home, and prepare the student for self-study on the CANVAS platform for the following week (Days 2-7). Students will be onsite, in-person to deliver their Teaching Topics and cover final course topics, including graduation, on the last day of the course (Day 8).

On-site lodging is available. Lodging is optional. Shared cabin space with bunkbeds is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Any overnight stay is $20/night and grants access to the kitchen appliances and indoor showers/bathrooms.

This course meets the American Camp Association 2012 Standards and the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid training requirement.
This course is approved by the United States Coast Guard to satisfy the first aid and CPR training requirements [46 CFR 11.205(e)(1)(i) and 46 CFR 11.205(e)(2)(iv)] for a merchant mariner license.

Available for student use is a standard refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and hot water urn. Most students bring camp stoves to cook within a budget under our outdoor cooking pavilion.
Lodging: $135 Camping or Bunkhouse.
Camping (bring your own gear) or bunk space (bring your sleeping bag and pillow) is available by reservation for. Camping is on a pad near the parking lot and classroom. Bunkhouse residents may be assigned a roommate. The bunkhouses are located a 10-minute walk up the mountain. You may also camp in your vehicle, but there is no hookup or space for RVs. Any overnight stay grants access to the kitchen amenities and indoor showers.
You may arrive between 12PM-9PM the day before the course starts for self check-in. Housing assignments and the grounds orientation will be on the desk at the front of the classroom. Please arrive by 7:45AM on the first day of your course for health screening. Class begins promptly at 8AM.
Students must be packed and moved out prior to 8AM on the last day of the course.

Certification Info for NOLS WFRs: Only NOLS WFR students can attend a NOLS WFA for recertification purposes. If you are attending this course to recertify your NOLS WFR, be sure to alert Martha Becton. You will take a written exam at lunch on Day 1 and a practical exam at lunch on Day 2. Prepare by reviewing all curriculum updates, skills videos, and take the online practice exam available at nols.edu.
Certificates will be awarded to all participants successfully completing the course. You can register online under the RCC Continuing Education-Online Registration tabs on our website by clicking the Enroll Now button at the top of this page. Click “Register and Pay for Continuing Education Classes”. For “key word” type in the word “wilderness”. Check the “select” box next to the class you wish to register for, then click the “submit” button. A registration confirmation should come up on the screen.
